Starting in Chicago, Krispy Kreme expects to have its doughnuts in more than 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants by the end of this year and a total of 12,000 by the end of 2026.

Themed doughnuts based on the 1984 film are available at Krispy Kreme stores beginning Monday, Oct. 7.

Bakeries and foodservice chains across the country are bolstering their menus by capturing the flavors of the season.
