Time Out New York engages followers with #100 best social media initiative tied to the annual 100 Best Dishes and Drinks issue
Time Out New York 's annual "100 Best Dishes and Drinks" issue hit stands today and in celebration, the publication is rewarding its devoted fans with a full year of giveaways across multiple social media platforms. Time Out New York invites consumers to experience the #100best restaurants throughout the city by sampling its critics' picks of the top dishes and drinks, then share what they eat, drink, taste and see on social media for a chance to win prizes. The cover of the annual issue incorporates the #100best hashtag, innately linking a social media component to the magazine for the first time. "We want our audience to experience all the amazing things the city has to offer by engaging with our content in a new way," said Janet Caputo, Social Media Director, Time Out New York. "#100best will be fun for our consumers, while also driving awareness for New York businesses and the fantastic fare our critics have discovered. This is our first major social media initiative since Time Out New York became part of a global digital media enterprise thanks to an investment by Oakley Capital," Caputo continued. "We look forward to many more similar projects."
To enter the promotion, Time Out New York fans can check in to one of the #100best restaurants on Foursquare; share a photo of a highlighted dish on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr or other social photo sharing services, or simply tweet from a #100best restaurant or about a #100best dish or drink. All entry methods must include @TimeOutNewYork and #100best in order to be eligible and all entrants must elect to share via Twitter in order for the entry to be received.
"Time Out New York has found great success with content packages like #100best in the past," added Editor-in Chief Michael Martin. "We love to generate excitement around discovering new restaurants and favorite dishes, simultaneously driving consumers to local businesses—something we're known for. Social media is an obvious fit with these notions and will only help broaden our reach and impact."
