Lamb Weston introduces waffled hash browns

11.27.2019
Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. is introducing its own take on Belgian-style waffles with the launch of waffled hash browns.

Made with Idaho shredded potatoes, the savory waffles are ready-to-eat and do not require a cooking step for food safety once thawed. However, to achieve a crispy texture, the hash browns may be baked or fried.

Lamb Weston waffled hash browns are made with dehydrated Idaho potatoes, butter, expeller pressed canola oil, faba bean flour, sea salt, garlic, and spice. Each 48-gram waffle contains 100 calories, 2 grams of protein, and less than 1 gram of sugar.

With a shelf life of 540 days, the waffled hash browns are now available to food service operators and may be added to any menu as a breakfast item, handheld snack, sandwich carrier, or in an appetizer application, the company says.

“Our goal was to give our operator partners a new way to serve a crispy potato product, and our new savory waffled hash browns hits the mark,” says Kim Cupelli, vice-president of marketing for Lamb Weston. “The waffled hash browns were designed to cook up crispy in the oven, making this a quick and easy option for coffee, sandwich, bakery and convenience stores.”
